My sister Mary told me about this Web-Site and I think it is great. Although she is 3 years older than I, I seem to remember the old neighborhood a little more. Does anyone out there remember Annie Romeyer. She used to live on Richards street. |

Nick, here is the resource I've used to transfer 8mm. Excellent quality 800 ft. to digital was about $500. www.digitaltransfersystems.net Here is a suggestion ask John Burkhardt to incorporate the film into the Red Hook Museum and Cultural Center planned for Pier 41. Ask the Cultural Center to subsidize the expense and in turn the DVD can be housed in the Red Hook Museum and be part of the historical artifacts planned to be housed in the Cultural Events Center and during the Walking Tours. |

Marcella Ambery, I remember "Mrs Maloney " very well. She was always looking out for "The Children". I can remeber once when Mrs Maloney caught several of us boys up to no good. After a thorough tongue lashing with her finger pointing in our faces she realized someone was coming and says "quick now run along before the authorities come or you'll catch the deviL". P.S. 30 was a great place and your Grandmother was a big part of that, may she rest in peace. Thanks for the memory. |

Marcella Amberry, for some reason we used to call her Marie, not Emily if she is the same person. Did she live on Conover St, and was she always smiling? I recall her always a very happy person..... |

Does anyone out there remember my grandmother, Mrs. Emily Maloney. She was the matron at PS 30 for over 30 years. She has now been deceased for 20 years and I can't help but think of how much she would have enjoyed this website.
Thank You. |
