Hi Everyone,
Just a note to say my husband my sister and I had a wonderful time at the old timers day. It was really enjoyable seeing so many people that I have not seen in years.
I also want to thank the VFW Post members for all there hard work in putting this all together to make it an enjoyable day. You all worked so very hard servicing the food and drinks. The food was fantastic and I had a ball. This was my first time and I guarantee if you have it again next year, we will be there. Thanks again.

This is for you Peter!!! How dare you to refer to the females at the Post as sluts. Who brought you up? Maybe you should go to the old timers reunion and announce it on the loudspeakers about them being sluts? I happen to know all the women who go in there and they are respected by ALL the guys in there. Sluts? I think not, bozo. You have got to be a clown...Louise |

Dear Peter, It is typical for some people to reduce the feminine to "sluts". But in the next sentence, to ask God for a blessing is disturbing. Does your God have to have genitals, to meet your approval? |

Jennifer, Your aunt Natalie was a great friend of my mom's. In fact my mom and dad are James' godparents. They also still see your uncle Jimmy occasionally in AC. My mom grew up on Van Brunt (288) and my dad came from Degraw and Strong. |

To Micky Sweeney Adamcik .. you wrote me a while back asking if I could find any info on your family (Sweeney/Farley/Shanley) .. Unfortunately, the keeper of all things geneological for Red Hook Point was my Mom who recently passed away. My sister Nan only remembers a dark haired girl (last name Sweeney) who was Drum Majorette for Visitation Band late 1940's, early '50s. This woman would now be near 70. She doesn't remember families of those names from Beard St, but says there was a Mrs. Farley who lived across from us on Conover St (#231-233 ??), we called them the Chopak houses (bet Van Dyke & Beard). Hope others who read this site can be of more help. ...Pat |
